Stringent and elegant. Berries, coffee, a hint of liquorice and dried herbs. A bit sharp tannins. A bit disappointing - had hoped for a more complex and rich palate. 2006 tasted afterwards clealy much more complex and promising.

Good structure, bitter fruit, spicy, seems to be honest Brunello. There's a hint of alcohol (14.5%) on the nose and palate. Still very young with marked tannins. With home made pappardelle and rabbit ragu at The Downtown Grocery in Ludlow, VT after a great day of skiing with my boys.

Very enjoyable Brunello and drinking very well now. Not the biggest Brunello, but still full of flavor. Well-structured with characteristic chocolate notes. Drank from the bottle with no decanting.

Pale ruby core with a little orange flecked fade at the rim; perfumed rich, ripe cherry. A whiff of herbality. Some earthy undergrowth. Not hugely complex at this stage but very pleasant; a little flat on the entry, slightly Cool and washed out. Some very dusty tannins also. Chalky. Fruit quality lacking here. Fine but needs to resolve itself.

Beautiful bouquet with some earthy impressions and some menthol and cherries. Juicy on the palate with fresh acidity, red fruits and supple tannin. Reading my last year's note the wine offered complexity, but that is not really the case at the moment. In fact the wine is a little one-dimensional and short in the finish, although it is still a very pleasant wine to drink. The score today was 88.

Pleasant earthy tones in the bouquet. Ripe red and black forest fruits in the bouquet as well as the taste. Good juice, tannin and acidity. Beautiful and complex wine.

Enjoyed side by side with 04. 05 was a clear winner with substantial vibrancy and balance.

Short (half hour?) decant. Savoury leather sour cherry nose, sweet ripe fruit, well balanced. Opened up significantly by the second glass.

The Wine Gang (London): Brooding nose with lots of dark fruit and a little yeast. Chunky but ripe tannins. Round. Good length. Chocolate-y. 17/20.
