2016 Waterford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
3/15/2020 - Bryder Likes this wine:
Clear, bright ruby color. Smoke, fresh red berries and a hint of tar on the nose. Darker fruits and a bit of warmth on the palate with a nice acidic backbone. Perhaps a hint of vanilla with air? Anyway, really well balanced and very charming.

2013 Concha y Toro Cabernet Sauvignon Don Melchor
7/30/2019 - Bryder Likes this wine:
Dark and almost oily looking. After an hour of air, expressive nose of blackberry, pine, pencil shavings and alcohol. No signs of heat or alcohol on the palate though, then again the back label does say that 2013 was the estate’s coldest year ever. Feeling smooth and viscous it brings dark, brooding berries, a bit of leather and tobacco. Very clean, no funk. Still quite structured; I think I will let my remaining bottles rest for 3+ years. Looking forward to the next one!

2007 Domaine Tollot-Beaut Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Champ-Chevrey
10/16/2018 - Bryder Likes this wine:
Really came in to its own after three hours open, no decant. Looks ruby with some bricking. N: Sous bois front and center mixed with both sour and at the same time perfectly ripe cherries. P: More sous bois, mushrooms, some pleasant tartness with a medium finish. All the reason one needs to age their burgundies for 10-12 years.
