This is a monster that still needs time to evolve. After a 2 hour slow ox and the 2 hours in the decanter, it started to open up. Lots of blue fruit, but a second level if black fruit too. Long finsh. Initially a little hot, but mellowed as the night went on. Some hints of spices (pepper?). Very different cab than the 2013 Altamura we had along side. Altamura was more drink now with a decanted. This was leave it in the bottle for another 2-4 years and you will be rewarded.

Decanted for 2 hours, then pour back into the bottle for another hour. The wine was special. Silky smooth, long finish. Lots of blue fruit and milk chocolate. Great to drink now with some prep or hold for another 2 years.

This has a great backbone. It was opened and decanted for an hour, the slow ox for another 2. It was still very hot and overpowered by the alcohol. I think it needs a lot of time in the bottle. Do not touch this beast for another 3-5 years.
