11/26/2022 7:35:00 AM - Hello-thank you for becoming a Fan and Friend. I met Dick Grace at Caymus in 1980.
I have tasted 1978-1983 and 1988 Grace Cabernet Sauvignon-see my Grace Tasting Story.
Have enjoyed two visits to Chateau La Mission Haut Brion.
Have tasted at DRC.
Have enjoyed the pre phyllorexa vineyard at Bollinger and tasting of course.
6/30/2022 4:24:00 PM - I’ve had many great 1980 Cali cabs, but not the Grace Family…very hard to find any of them around any more. Unheralded vintage people didn’t save…Bought a bunch early on but only 1 or 2 left.
Cheers!
2/27/2018 5:54:00 AM - We are heading to Chicago (Wicker Park Inn B&B) in a few weekends to hang with some friends from our days living near Napa (their first time in The Windy Town). We may bring a Healdsburg or Amador County gem with us.
Understanding the likelihood is slim, all the way around, it'd be great to connect with any of our CT wine friends while so close to your domicile... Not putting dates on a public post, but email is DetroitSuns at G mail if you'd like to reach out for a possible dinner or wine sharing or something... Marcus & Ana.
Noroc!
3/5/2016 5:48:00 AM - Ah yes, Doug Gray is a good client and friend and I do his cellar management for him. Cheers and all the best. Ask him about the white wines we have assembled together...
12/21/2015 8:04:00 PM - I entered the first few Penfolds Grange TNs from the 30 vintage vertical into CT, but only 5 so far. I still have another 15 to enter, didn't take notes on all the vintages 1980-2010.
6/25/2015 7:31:00 AM - Dick Grace's first bottlings were Caymus, Grace Family Vineyard. Chuck Wagner made one of the first vineyard designation wines starting with '1978 thru 1982 and helped Dick Grace become one of the first California cult wines. The 1983 and forward today are from Dick Grace. Hope this helps.
6/25/2015 7:10:00 AM - Hi Jlgnml,
Quick question. I looked at the following tasting event you had three years ago-
https://www.cellartracker.com/event.asp?iEvent=17947
And I think few wines were misclassified (Caymus while the notes refer to Grace Family). I just wanted to double check.
1/20/2015 4:28:00 PM - Ever go to CellarTracker offline tastings? We have these quarterly in Cincinnati area, maybe one a year in Indy if u want to join a small group and bring a few fellow wine lovers to share amazing stuff.

PnP. Just right with salmon. Good color, very smooth. Like the RR for its deep fruit.

This was the second btl and it was actually better. So smooth and with a good deep berry flavor and a good finish. Last btl😢
