Nose - notes of cassis, plum, raspberry, slight green pepper (in a good way) wood box and slight coco and liquorice Very clean and precise wine - great acidity running right through it Nose carries to the front and mid palate, however the finish is a little drying and clipped Fine tannins I'd give it 3-5 years but don't think it will carry much longer Near term drinking

Tasted at the winery and again that night at Osteria Dell A'rco
Nose - fresh red fruit and slight earth/truffle notes, however nose is a little restrained Palate - alive, fresh, clean, beautiful acid vein and very mouth filling without being over the top This wine is beautifully balanced and refined Worth seeking out to taste a top Barbera!

The nose of this wine just builds and builds, beautiful notes of red cherry, spice, cured ham - Worth it for the nose alone!
However, it does not follow through quite a generously onto the palate. Silky texture, round, fresh with a good vein of acid. However the tannins do need a bit more time and the wine fleshes out with time in glass/decanter.
Food wine is often used too much, but describes this perfectly - I could sit there all night sniffing the nose of this wine and it came alive in mouth with chicken liver pasta
From a big vintage, it can last for much longer and should be kept for at least another 5 years.
