Nose: Dark cherry Raspberry Floral(but I can’t identify what)
Palate Pepper/alcohol
This might be the tightest Merlot I’ve ever opened. First pour I couldn’t taste anything but alcohol. Vivino didn’t do much for it at all. Sitting for 30 minutes after pouring, start to get sour cherry. Decanted 4 hours The nose has all but disappeared. Thin sour cherry is all I can taste, with a long finish. 24 hours after opening: The fruit is MUCH more pronounced and tastes more lush and velvety (instead of the thin taste earlier) with a longer finish. This needs a few years to mature or a very long decant, but after decanting is very good.
