2004 Numanthia. Finally! Bottle 9 of 12 and it is in the zone……integrated and no longer too big and almost port like. The fruit is still there after 20 years, but now as part of a harmonious mouthful. One hour in decanter and away we go in Zalto Bordeaux. Now I need to try the last three a couple of years apart to see how it progresses but mmmmmm not sure I can wait too long.

Nice young Bordeaux, showing well but still finishing with enough tannins to prompt me to leave my last three for 5 years at least. Cut through the fat of Easter lamb beautifully and when fully integrated will be a smooth unctuous mouthful.

Martinborough’s finest on a warm Friday evening. Taken straight from the cellar and was refreshing at first and then mellowed as it warmed into a smooth glass of dark cherry lusciousness.
