Brioche and hazelnut with a deep golden color -- this bottle showed some oxidation, and the bubbles are fading a bit. I typically really enjoy Dom, but this felt a bit disjointed relative to other 2006s and surrounding vintages. Perhaps not a great bottle or a storage issue, or maybe it's past my aging preference for this type of champagne.

PnP: Black pepper and cherry on the nose. Tastes underripe, with a heavy dose of cedar and menthol. I can find the fruit deep underneath -- sour cherry and maybe some strawberry. Short, mouthwatering finish.
Over a few hours, the fruit started to come into focus, with bright red cherries and cranberries. Drinkable, but either too young or not to my tastes -- I'd like at least a hint of ripeness to the fruit.

Dark color relative to some of the other Sandrone Barolos I've had ... red berries and anise on the nose. Tannins still have a bit of grip, balanced by ripe plums on the palate. Mouthwatering finish of medium length.
Nicely made and very drinkable, but not overly complex. Perhaps a bit more time would help it develop, but it currently pales in comparison to the '05 and '06, which were wonderful.
