  • Don & The Shrimpheads (Craig & Nita's Place): Light gold color. Drank a glass over 45 minutes. More bold than the Comte before it, just a touch of oxidativeness creates a different vibe; apple, quince, ginger and sour dough on the nose. The palate is bigger and layered, with apricot jam, Grand Mernier, lemon confit, apple peel, subtle cherry, subtle toast. 94+pts.

  • Local Minneapolis Chef extraordinaire Don Saunders cooked for 8 Shrimpheads at my place. We highly recommend hiring Don to cook for in home events! Dave Ds marvelous btl tonight. Love Krugs in your face Gusto & power fueling its nuanced flavors. A wonderful flt w/ Candace's sublime 06 Comte! Edge goes to the Comte for my palate. 94+

  • Home drinking with improvised tapas/pintxos with my favorite anchovies - was supposed to be a 166/2010 base according to my Cellartracker inventory. I am not worse off for the retailer or auction's house mistake as the 168 iteration showed amongts the best in a recent vertical I attended. It has all the flavours you associate with masterfully executed Champagne blend whether the bruised apples from the PN, apricot from the Meunier etc... It is all the Champagnes in one! How everything is woven together into a spherical package is extarordinary. The Grandes Maison's best response to the best Grower offerings! There is amazing midpalate richness and yet it is perfectly countenanced by the drive and acidity. Very sapid and long on the finish.

  • Best bottle (Belsers Restaurant, Nürtingen): Glass: Sophienwald Bordeaux
From Magnum. Clear medium golden color. Beautiful fine, deep, complex and smoky nose with fine yeast notes. Lovely.
On the palate fresh as a daisy, beautifully balanced, elegant, nice tension, fine mousseux, long and lingering. What a great start into the evening! 94-95

  • Giallo paglierino scarico, naso fresco agrumato, scia minerale ma non molto espressivo... bocca suntuosa per freschezza, volume e scia salina fruttata. NECESSITA DI 3\5 ANNI, come minimo.
