Nose and taste immediately after opening seems muted and closed, nothing too amazed. Left in bottle to breath for another 4hrs before second try. Strong dark fruits, blackberry and earthly note with a hint of spices and cinnamon on the nose. Overall, big but not over the top, can be left in bottle for 5 to 10 years to further develop.
High tannin, medium acidity, high alcohol, medium body with long but somewhat sharp finish.
(p.s. waxed cork is a pain to open without good tool)

Deep purple in colour, medium nose with strong cherry, plum and other black fruits. High level of sweetness in the wine so make for easy drinking especially without food.
Medium tannin, low to medium acidity, very full body, medium to long-ish finish. Doubt it can improve much with more aging, quite optimal to drink now.

Light and citrus aroma, fresh and fruity on the palate, both typical of NZ SB. However, the acidity has so obviously mellowed over the few years in the cellar and layers of taste and fruit profile is apparent. Overall feels much closer to a Chardonnay than a young and green SB. Interesting and worth the wait.
Medium acidity, medium body, medium to long finish. Not a typical NZ but in a way, also one of the most complex SB I had in a long time.
