Remarkably tannic given 15yrs in the bottle. Drinks beautifully from the moment opened, and three hours in, still has structure. Very little fruit left in the nose. Plenty of cherry and strawberry and a bit of the tar. The color is beginning to brown a bit, so I would imagine it won't make it to the 2020 life in the estimate.

Nose floral versus a rather spicy palate. Complexity rare among viognier. We drank this with a lobster and crab dinner. The crab spices battled this wine too much. Needs a white fish, or at least a sefood with little spice/pepper to really bring out the fruits. It was a beautiful wine. On its own, the wine really lingered on the palate in a balanced manner.

For a relatively cheap Bordeaux, this drinks like a champ. Deep dark purple, showing almost no signs of the 12 years it has already. Tannins are present, but have smoothed out significantly and this is drinkable from the moment I opened, although it still drinks better three hours in. Slight sediment. Alcohol at 13% seems downright tame compared to the Napa monsters. As a second bottling, this drinks much better than I had anticipated. Clear dark fruits resound with an ever so minor dry kick at the end.
