Red Fruit and Mediterranean herbs in the nose. Bright Cherry and Pomegranate flavors along with the herbs are well balanced by the acidity. Long juicy finish. Very enjoyable wine that pairs perfectly with a Sicilian Red sauce and pasta. Drinking well now, likely near or at its peak drinking window.

When first opened I noticed an earthy aroma along with sour fruit. First taste the fruit had a tart and acidic flavor. Some of the other older Windy Oaks bottles I've opened have been similar. They need time to open up, even at 12 years old.
Dinner took several hours to cook and now that the wine has been opened for 4 hours it is a completely different bottle of Pinot!
The aroma has bright red fruit along with some tertiary characteristics, an earthy forest mushrooms nose.
The acidity balances the cherry and rhubarb fruit flavors up front followed by a long complex length of fruit, acid, rounded tannins and subtle oak.
This is an excellent bottle of wine now and I think it will continue to evolve and be an enjoyable wine with additional age. With the acidity it should keep the fruit tasting fresh while the tertiary characteristics continue to develop.
Paired well with Lamb Shanks braised in a Bourguignon style sauce. Took almost 4 hours so the wine had plenty of time to open up.

Minerally wet forest aroma along with red fruits.
Strawberry and rhubarb flavors. Long finish of well balanced fruit and acidity.
This wine is great right now and will likely continue to be for several more years
