  • 2012 Corliss Estates Syrah

Color is super dark, inky and tooth staining. Big bold wine with nose of blackberries and pepper. Taste is blackberry fruit with black pepper, minerals and chocolate. Still drinking great with smooth tannins and a medium finish. This can easily last for another 1-2 years.

  • 2018 Force Majeure Syrah SJR Vineyard

I love this wine. Admittedly I am a huge fan of "Rocks" syrahs, especially those from SJR Vineyard.
Decanted for an hour before first sample. Right away you could tell this was a wine from The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater. This vintage is full bodied. The smell is so distinctive. This version has scents of black licorice along with the dark fruits and savory meats. The mouthfeel is super smooth even silky with soft tannins. It got better as it opened up after a few hours.
The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like garrigue, stoniness and meaty. It tastes like black pepper and stoniness. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has medium acidity.

  • 2018 Delmas Viognier SJR Vineyard

Best Viognier I’ve ever had. Clear golden color (not sure why Jeb Dunnuck said unfiltered/cloudy, my glass is perfectly clear). Classic apricot nose plus floral tones. Flavors of white apricot with some mineral and slight oak. Great balance. You can tell this is a “Rocks” viognier. 30 second plus finish. I love this wine, but last bottle.
