Good level and well kept cork. Reasonably young colour. The nose open up quite nicely, with some fresh cherry fruit hinting behind a mostly tertiary nose globally pleasant. In the mouth well rounded mature Lessona tannins are pleasant at first but the mouth is immediately shorten by a rough acidity you would not expect from such a warmer vintage. This acidity is not only high but also not integrated. One would wonder how it comes up with a good quality tannins. Puzzling for me, and certainly ruining an experience that was otherwise promising, in an appellation and producer that is a landmark for the region in more ancient and recent vintages.

nice level in the bottle. The colour is young enough and healthy. Instant nose is actually very pleasant, underwood, spices, with some fresh fruit timidly in the background. Tannic structure is well polished, present but not invasive. So fare a well conserved and seducive wine. The less pleasant part of the experience comes up with the late arrival of a massive acidity, not integrated and well beyond the usual (high) standard of nebbiolo. Actually, it is an aggressive acidity too (malic acid maybe?) This completely downgrades the experience that ends up being frustrating at best. So a wine to enjoy for its perfume mostly... same conclusion touching the Lessona 1985 from the same producer (and maybe only left back then?)

Colour is quite intense and very young. After a little while in the glass, the nose is still very fruit driven, on a fresh blackcurrant dominant, with good spices and floral notes. Mouth still has a lot of grip but elegant tannins with a long finish. Keeps on getting better. This is a remarkably fresh wine for its 33 years, perfect now but can hold itself for quite a while.
