Still a little young but blew all four of us away nonetheless-a beautiful Barsac, and can't wait to taste it again in another 2-3 years to see how it evolves. Golden yellow. Powerful even for a Coutet, with prominent notes of peach and apricot followed by some citrus, moderately long finish yet seemed almost weightless. Kept pulling me back for yet another sip. Served it tonight with a dessert of chocolate ganache torte--was a great combination.

Excellent bottle of mature chianti. Very nice nose, but the real welcome was great big "Hello" with the delivery of pepper and spice on first sip, and some chewy tannin, which quickly rounded out. Medium finish. Shared with good friends who concurred in the assessment. Served with homemade stuffed peppers that had been given a slight kick of chili sauce, so the wine's pepper and spice and mature fruit was a great fit. Although this wine is almost 15 years old, it's definitely not on the down slope and seems to have quite a bit of life to go. Glad I still have one more bottle to share with more good friends.
