Nose of brambly blackberry, smoky campfire, and hints of hard candy. Powerful rush of complex black raspberry layers with tart cherry notes, fresh herbs, light pepper, and lively acidity. Chewy finish bring oak, fat tannins, black fruits, earthiness, and another round of acidity. Well put together. Old school but polished.

That’s a spicy Zinfandel! Brighter, and more linear in structure than a lot of the Bedrock Zins, this shows bright cherry fruit that is dusted with cayenne. Medium bodied and pure, I treasure the freshness of expression that lets the vineyard express its potential through the vision of a talented team. Drink it now because it’s really good.

“Dry-farmed, Planted 1910 St. George Rootstock Eastern Edge of Russian River Valley Tended by Jake Bilbro —MTP”
Opaque violet with burgundy coloration at edges. Nose red fruits with a mineral backbone. Palate ripe black cherries with a mineral edge. A cranberry note. A dusky note on the finish.
Would air it out next time, a good pairing with red meat. 91 pts

2 of 4 during zin blind tasting - 2017 limerick horizontal - Carlisle, Bedrock, Limerick - plus Turley Paso Robles zin for contrast.
Mild nose with some cherry. More black pepper, and blackberry or currant. Nice flavors with a lingering finish.
