We drank this wine well beyond its prime .... more an error of having lost track of it in my cellar than intentional additional aging ... and yet it stood up remarkably well. It was a pleasure still tasting the distinctive Sangiovese cultivar. The wine was not off but had lost the brightness of fruit that it would have had a decade earlier. Enjoyed it none the less!

This wine was dry and lean. There was a bit of dried cherry/leathery fruit. Last time I had it was 2008 and I simply noted that it was Lean and "OK". This is serviceable. It was actually a bit better after several days of being recorked in the original 750 ML bottle. Not my style, but perhaps typical for a Chianto Classico based on my limited experience, so take my notes and score with a grain of salt. I like more fruit, depth and viscosity.

Had with dry aged strip, tuscan style, with white beans. This wine was totally great! Wonderful nose of intense cherries and a little earth, but still bright and lively. Well-balanced on the palate with fruit following through from nose to palate with great intensity, soft sweet tannins, solid acidity that generates a fresh feel. Great pair for the meal. Will drink well for another 5-7 years, but not sure if it will get a lot better.

Very disappointed. A little to acidic. Leather, plums and blueberry muffins. Tasted thin with little finsih.

Strong, full flavor, not too tannic. Good alone or with food
