AP 05-16. Candid orange and apples on the nose, the body was almost non-existent with a short finish. I had 2 glasses, a bit disappointed and decided to cork it back. On day 2 reclaimed some of the weight, brought spices to the orange peels and generally improved a lot. Yet not to expectations, there is always a possibility it is closed down and need more time, but for now - day 1 - 86p, day 2 88p.

The nose on this is quite expressive, lot of floral notes and stonefruit, maybe leaning to some tropical notes.
It is definitely a leaner style of Auslese. Unfortunately, I don't get much depth and it finishes quite poorly. I recall liking the 15 Rosenberg Kabinett much more, as well as the 15 UW Spatlesen.

A Rieslingfeier of our Own; 2/13/2017-2/18/2017 (Traben-Trarbach, Germany): This is almost a step backwards in terms of sweetness versus the ET and UW Spätlesen. At least that was how I perceived it. Of course, the step backwards in sweetness is not a step back in quality. This is a leaner, more classically styled Auslese, sitting on the lower fringes of the Prädikat. A little bit of grapefruit peel is commingled with tons of minerality and acidity to round out the palate.
