This was excellent. Loads of saline minerality, some spices wrapped around a citrus fruit core with the hot 2018 vintage showing only in some riper apricot and quince fruit notes. Thanks to all the minerality and a medium+ acidity, the wine remains on the right side of things and should drink well for quite some time.

Tasted at the estate. Intense aromas of matchstick, smoke and a ripe fruit of slightly baked pear and plenty of saline mineral. The palate has some weight to it, easily balanced with the crisp and fresh acidity.

Tasted during a visit to the estate in Beaune. This spent 15 months in oak (25% new). A hot vintage and the release was hence kept back a while. Reductive with popcorn and matchstick notes. Pear, green apple and tangerine fruit. Hints of toasted brioche. Mineral complexity includes smoke, cold steel and rocky. Beautifully crisp palate, linear and precise.

Joseph Drouhin Cellar Visit and Tasting with Vero (Beaune): Tasting, brief note. From the Aloxe-Corton side. Also showing 2018's rich and fat character. Good density, this is already fun and balanced. Another wine I'd think best to enjoy young, probably 2022-2028.

Very typical, structure is so fine, vertical, manky, yet elegant; a real Corton, long future ahead. 94+ point
