Medium depth, red with slight orange rim. Moderate intensity, pleasant, red currants. Medium weight, good acid introduction followed by significant but not excessive tannins and in the finish. Little flavour though. Ok.

An immediate candied raspberry, rubber nose, with air; more red fruit, spices, bell pepper, black olive. Flavor profile is similar, fleeting red fruit (like red berries, plum)/green beans, and hay. Thin and acidic, bitter tannins, not a lot there. Light see-through magenta. Better with food.

11/3/10 at home alone. Every time I have this wine I am amazed how good it is for such a tiny ($6.99) price. Very dark. Excellent nose, loads of rich fruit gush from the glass. Matched on the palate by lovely lush fruit that is forward and flavory yet still incredibly well-structured. What a value! 5-12-17-8: 92/100

Consistent in quality with other vintages. Not as ripe as '09, not as thin as '07, this falls nicely in the middle as a reliable wine that delivers basic goodness. Plays out well against red meat, which for us was in the form of Guinness stew.

Thanksgiving Week Wines; 11/22/2012-11/25/2012 (Edison, NJ): From magnum. This was lithe and easy-going. Lots of floral notes, some cherry and subtle earth notes.
