At the time of tasting this bottle and the other reds had been open for around 7 hours. First red wine is the 2019 Cabernet Franc made all with estate fruit from vines planted in the early 1970s. Aged for 16 months in 60% new French oak. Deep purplish ruby red. Dark and layered nose coated in smashed blackberries, tobacco, and perfume. Medium plus tannins (7/10) with a medium plus to full body. Lovely mouthfeel and well rounded with flavors of cedar, blueberries and bitter cocoa. Long and lingering finish with balanced acidity. Drink till 2030. (94+)

Two hour double decant. Deep dark magenta color. Plum, fig cake, and subtle sage. Smooth, dry palate. Soft tannins on the longish finish.
This was not nearly as good as I expected. I’ll have it as a pop and pour next time. Easy drinker nonetheless.
