  • I can't get enough of the perfect bitters and the very elegant citrus.

  • See my previous note from August 2023; now with more development it are the very refined bitters that impressed me most.

  • Italian Wine Scholar Class @ The Texas Wine School. 100% SB from 1000' - 2000' vineyards w/ porphyric and sandy soils. Med yellow. Med+ cat pee, passion fruit, white peach, verbena, fresh green herbs. Dry, w/ med+ to high acidity & med+ alcohol (13.5%). Crisp and juicy, but w/ a creamy mouthfeel thanks to 7-8 mos. of lees aging, 20% in barrels. Med+ body, w/ med+ to pronounced flavor intensity. w/ a citrus and wet stone, salty, long, mineral finish. NZ-like nose w/ Old World structure. A nice mix of cool and moderate climate. Drinking well already but showing even better a few days after being open.

  • straw colour and medium body in the glass. gooseberry and stonefruit in the nose with floral and minty (not grassy) whiffs. crisp and creamy feel in the mouth and with good acidic lift as the flavours unfold: fruity with herbal and citric accents. with time and warmth a vein of pink grapefruit pith gains in notoriety. long, fresh, mineral finish.

a round rather than nervy style of SB but with plenty of acidity and minerality to be fresh and zingy. drinking well already and with good upside potential over a handful of years for those of us who like this style.

13.5% AbV; fermentation in stainless; ageing on lees for ~7-8 months in stainless (80%) and large barrels (20%)

  • Citrus, lemon, gooseberry, grapefruit, peach, nectarine, and butter are joined by chalky, stony and flinty minerality, with good acidity and very good length. Medium-bodied, with good concentration, a lightly buttery texture, and good balance. A beautiful Sauvignon Blanc!
