  • E Reynaud smaking: Etter 1995 Beerenauslese blir dette naturligvis en veldig lys vin.

Men også ung. Til tross for å være 16 år har den knapt noen merkbar modning, utover at den er helt åpen og drikker perfekt.

Hvit ferskenfrukt, blomster, petrichor.

  • Really excellent. Maybe early still. Very kapow with a strong honey hit right up front. Probably needs like 10 or more years…

  • Significantly richer and sweeter than I was expecting, but turns out it’s the Spatlese fuder 5 and not the Kab. Starting to show some complexity alongside the mid-palate padding, but still some considerable way to go. Promising. ****

  • This Domprobst Spätlese with the A.P. Number 5 flows with a very clear, young colour into the glass. No sign of a aged wine.
On the nose you get a mixed bag of aged aromas like petrol & ripe apricot simultaneously mango, pineapple and more fresh, exotic flavors. Along with it you have some lime, almonds and fresh herbs out of the garden.
Good balanced acidity on the palate, lots of fruit flavors, nice sweet-sour play and gigantic drinkability. Missing a bit the last complexity on the palate. Not sure if it will appear after some more aging.

  • 2007 German Rieslings at the Magnum Society (Wellington, New Zealand): Relatively dark, deep gold. Quite a neutral nose, with a little kerosene. Notes of white flowers (honeysuckle?), a little honey, citrus and nectarines. A very rich Riesling with a lovely, viscous texture. Very good fruit weight and concentration. Big structure, broad on the mid palate with a lovely acid balance and very long finish. Flavours of ripe tropical fruit, with some chalky minerality. This wine went beautifully with the food, which brought out the wine's sugars in a really attractive way. More complexity than I saw in the other wines. With this stuffing, I would cellar 5+ years. My (and the group's overall) WOTN, 93.
