Still very strong dark and a little red fruit. Nice mouth feel with still adequate acidity and just enough tannin remaining. Probably, only just past its best. Drink now.

Red fruits among opening the bottle. Not decant, slow oxidation for 2 1/2 hours. Very lovely, leather, tobacco and powdery tannins at the end of the finnish. Still intact. Will drink the remaining bottle withnin 2 years

Alc: 14%; Deep garnet. Warm dry bouquet showing scorched earth, dried herbs, baked pottery clay, red clay with forest fruits, underbrush, chinese 5 spice and plenty of sweet oak spices. Full-bodied, powerful with a sweet entry and richly textured with a savoury twist. Ripe flavours of brown liquorice, cassis, bitter chocolate, stewed forest fruit with hints of date, damson even fig. The finish is long with firm, powdery tannins that have a dryness to them different to Barossa. Some tertiary development and generosity to the mid-palate are matched by enough fruit and an acid edge to keep the wine singing. Whilst it has that Oz boldness, the wine is overtly sweet but rather the dry earthier Coonawarra character that shines through. A superb wine that exudes density, concentration, excellent length, and is drinking well.

Much better than I remembered . very dark and on initial tasting seemed hot but after an hour was better balanced with plenty of blackcurrant . Not as much sediment this time .

blackberries on the nose with well balanced fruit driven palate - still has tannins though beautifully integrated and I think drinking optimally
