I've never had Sauvignon Gris so I was taken aback by the nose. It was so pervasive it reminded me of the first time I opened a lychee. Is the uber-ripe, oxidized, tropical aromas that explode from the glass typical of the variety? Is it tamer when young? The notes of pineapple and Hawaiian sweetbread, are ripe, honeyed, and unctuous bordering on oily. It was still pungent on day 2 but settled down nicely. Better on its own than with food.

Blend of sauvignon blanc and sauvignon gris. When are they going to listen to me and add some semillon. Either way this has added some weight and body but of course has lost fruit and crispness. It's better probably at year 5. Still has some tropics and kiwi and lemon. Drink up.

Excellent wine. Blend of Sav Blanc and Pinot Blanc. Stone fruits and honey suckle, so a bit on the sweet side. Drank this over two nights and it had mellowed significantly on night two. ...so don't drag this bottle out.

Light yellow color; savory, tart green fruit, cream, green pepper nose; lightly oily textured, a little oxidized, tart green fruit, mineral, lime palate; medium-plus finish (blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris)
