Opened my last bottle to replace a corked one. Very concentrated dark fruit that still needs time to open up. Not as easy and flattering as bottle 4 from the case about 12 months ago, this felt as if it was going back into its shell. Perhaps 2009’s are tightening up again, still bags of fruit but a bit awkward and very iron filings on finish. A bit serious and not Vin de plaisir, sadly will never know as ship has sailed. I’d trust Bachelet that this will re-imurge.

Blind. Grassy, vanilla, so classically Bachelet. Hard to place the terroir however. Aromatics never fade throughout its course through midnight. Fruit quality indicates a great vintage too. Gevrey 2010 village? Very impressed. 91-92

Dark cherry and forest berry fruit, earth, black, licorice, stemmy, loam, cooling herbal notes on the nose. It's deep but relatively elegant and punching well above its weight class. The stems add a lovely textural note. Drinking a peak with time in hand. I like how it retains freshness in the vintage. Outstanding.

Such a great burgundy for its level and price point. Much better than the last bottle I tried.
