Took to a party, so no detailed notes. Initially, it was all big fruit and alcohol. After a couple hours, it became much more balanced. Nice, plummy nose. Plums and various dark fruits on the palate, along with a nice hint of bacon fat. Fairly full-bodied, with a good finish. Tannins resolved, but enough left to suggest it will last another couple years.

Dark garnet color with signs of aging on the edges. This wine is medium weight and has much sediment in it. Nose is muted but shows signs of black cherry and tar, fruit does not carry alcohol at this point. Tastes of black cherry and spice. Tannins integrated and soft. If it were not for the color, and spice of this wine, I would have believed it was a heavy pinot. Still drinks well but moving quickly toward the the "finished" line.

Extremely jam forward. Almost thought the bottle had gone bad when I first opened. It settled down and became more approachable after about an hour, but this is one of the first real missteps I've had with Venge. Drink now.

Smooth. Balanced. Medium high tannins still - but fine tannins. Still has good fruit. This won't get better with more time. Drink up.
