Earthy, modest nose of dark fruit, leather, dried leaves, cocoa beans, molasses, and a touch of oak, nicely balanced palate of blackberry and black currant with notes of black pepper, fig, and black plum, well-integrated, powdery tannins, concluding with a long, plum finish.

Highly enjoyable Cab in a ripe, dense style. As others have noted, be prepared for a significant amount of sediment. Fine, sweet tannins. Likely at it's peak plateau, the CT drink-by date of 2024 seems about right. Wife would rate higher.

IAMANDYC nailed the notes and score. Sadly, my lone bottle but I really enjoyed this wine. It will make me look for more wines from O’Brien estate. My lone piece of advice is that the bottom of the bottle had a pretty decent amount of sediment.

Completely different wine from what I had a month ago. Took 3 hours in the decanter but it became rich, deep and very flavorful and aromatic with dark fruit, chocolate and coffee.

Normally O'Brien wines are really enjoyable with great QPR's. This one was pleasant tasting but uncharacteristically thin, a bit hollow at the mid-palate and lacked depth. Got a little better each day and peaked on 3rd day (score represents last day). Hmmm. I'd drink up.
