  • A bit international style. Well integrated oak, cherry, nice complexity.

  • Slightly unbalanced w/both alc and acids shining through, quite immature, overly acidic, hollow mid-palate that certainly has the sense of place that is most unbecoming. Please let your btls rest!

Beautifully intense red with slightly maturing rim.
Nose is M- and has some small showing of dark fruit, cherries and wet stones.
In the mouth, this wine has some negative aspects in that the alcohol is not carried well by the young fruit, the acids are sharp and playing their own uncoordinated solo and that the mid-palate is hollow. On the positive side, we find a wine with great intensity, well structured tannins, a long finish and a long future ahead.

It has cherries, structure and ompf but not balance, leather or completeness.

Quite pricey (€30 in shop in Firenze) for what it is, but with some 8-12 yrs of patience, this has a fair chance of hitting its stride.

    Wife: 87p.
Part of our DRC collection: "District Rally: Chianti".

Slow-oxed 10 hrs, decanted for sediment. Enjoyed for lunch at over-delivering 1 star L'Effervescence, Tokyo.

  • The Italian Wine Masters (Metropolitan Pavilion): The nose was finessed and classic in its performance with dusty red fruits, herbs and old cedar box. On the palate, it showed high-toned red berry fruit with an airy and fresh quality. The finish was long and pure with tannin peaking through at the close.
