Ok, but a bit disappointing for Diamond Creek. Still has a decent amount of fruit, but just primary fruit notes, without much in the way of secondary flavors.

Well this old beauty is shutting down now. I let it dry-ox for 2-3 hours and it opened back up a bit. I suppose overnight would have given it a better chance. It drank well but not to the standard bottles of this vintage drank last year. Still it was a 92+ experience but not the 97 that it was over the past several years. Still one to go in my cellar.

Pulled the cork on this 1999 Diamond Creek Volcanic Hill...an old vintage that I have enjoyed through the years. This is the first bottle that seems to have lost its taste. I left it open to slow ox overnight in the wine cabinet and today I will remove and decant until dinner. We'll see if it can be rescued via long decant as some others have suggested.

Good Wine with a Boring Super Bowl (Chez Kailin - Northbrook IL): Social walk-around tasting, brief note. Ripe black fruit, slightly meaty with good concentration. Less nuance vs the other DC 99s just tasted.
