Decanted 4 hours on day 1. Black licorice and sweet vermouth on the nose, with blue/black fruits and minerality on the palate. Finish went on for what seemed like days. Showed even better on Day 2. In a great place at 11 years old and probably has several more left to go.

Really enjoyed drinking this last night but would wait about 5 years before having another bottle. D. Mitchell decanted this wine, I believe for a couple of hours. At first, the nose had caramel and vanilla notes that were as powerful as the cherry, plum, and blackberry. Thankfully the oak notes subsided after a bit of swirling and the beautiful fruit, violets, and dark chocolate came through. Still quite primary although there was some nice sweet tobacco developing with a ton of upwards potential and thus the recommendation to wait. Fantastic wine. As my wife I like to simple put "it was yummy".
Earthy, fruity bouquet. Deep, rich and unforgettable mouthfeel. Flavor notes consistent from prior tastings. Loads of cola, chocolate, baking/Asian spice, strawberry bramble and plumb. There are no extracted flavors, no egregious oak treatment, no excessive tannins. You are drinking pure fruit. Mega long finsish.

Good structure and good fruit. A bit of spice, but hard to place. Couldn't decide whether it needed more air. A bit of a puzzle.
