My last bottle with the wax top... hopefully. The wine is delicious and likely at peak, cassis, cocoa, spice, fully integrated tannins. In a beautiful spot, Plenty of life remaining. Thoroughly enjoyed at Thanksgiving.

Not a typical Cab profile but a very good wine. Still a little tannic at the end but got more so as the night went on. I think it may be a little past peak.

Declined a bit for my tastes, from my last note. Color is now reddish brown. The fruit has faded a bit with more herbal and green qualities coming to the forefront. A bit more earthy and bitterness on the finish. Still good …. but less.

14.5% alc. 94% Cab Sauv, 6% Cab Franc 58% from Artz Vineyard, 42% from WGE Vineyard 80% new French oak, 20% neutral French oak barrels 400 cases produced
Dense looking wine but not inky or sediment. Purple core and red edges. Nose of red sweet rip berries, mentol, tobacco, and the pleasant smell of whisky barrels.
Medium to full bodied. Thicker mouthfeel but not heavy or dense, drying/puckering cheek tannins. Red berries, plums, cherries and a bit of creaminess to the fruit. Some cassis and a nice green vegetal element. Acidity pulls the fruit back from being too "sweet". Medium dusty tannins. Nice wine. Reminds me of a bit more like a mid range Bordeaux but a bigger and fresher fruit element. Decent length to finish as well. 91 points. Gets better with more air.

Never really opened up. Not a fun drink at this stage of the game. HATE the heavily waxed top. Came in 3rd compared to 2008 Grgich and 2012 Brea cabs.
