Purple/violet color with aromatic aromas. Inital aromas that brings to mind truffles gives way to black cherry cobbler, chocolate, with hints of orange rind and strawberries. On the palate it's round, with a great texture, wonderful acidity and well integrated tannins with black cherry, blueberry, chocolate flavors with an intensely spicy long finish. 94% Zinfandel/6%Grand Noir

Decanted one hour. Initially a plummy, pruney aspect - almost liqueur-like - to the spicy nose - but this blew off a bit over the next 30 minutes. Somewhat of a riper style featuring black cherries, black raspberry, smoke, with a bit of black pepper, mineral and earth. Fairly medium-bodied with a modest finish. An excellent Zin although not as expressive or amazing as some of the other Carlisles I've had from 2012. Drink soon!

From a magnum, nose of red cherry, black cherry, allspice, and earth, more of the same on the palate, big body, very tasty, elegant for a Zinfandel, mouth filling fruit, rich fruit, at peak so enjoy soon, and a long, long, lovely finish, enjoyed over three nights, photo uploaded.

Dried roses, Christmas spice, plum, and some concentrated Zinfandel bramble. Beautiful dark ruby color, more transparent and without the murkiness it had 3 years ago. Tannins resolved, acidity holding. Drink up unless stored professionally.

Fantastic Zinfandel from one of the oldest and most iconic vineyards in Sonoma. Quintessential Carlisle style - the perfect balance between power and elegance. A great bottle that shows that good Zinfandel can age.
