Burgundy, Day 2 (Beaune, France): At La Lune. I initially wasn't too keen on this given that I've found some of the earlier Grivot wines a little too backwards, but the lower appellation probably helped a bit with that. There's certainly a hint of spice alongside some pleasant red fruit and a fairly broad and earthy palate. Not too complex but an amply pleasant foil for the incredible côte de porc.

Bottles drunk with lunch or dinner while in Burgundy; 2/10/2020-2/14/2020 (Burgundy): A very good vlliage Vosne that shows all I want from Vosne with silky black cherry that has plenty of spice. Mid weight and in line with Village concentration and complexity. This will likely benefit from 3-5 more years of cellar time.

Grands Jours de Bourgogne 2014 Day 2: Côte de Nuits 3-18-13: 20% new oak. Nose is a deep jam of dark fruits, vinyl; palate shows sweet plum. Pretty nice! If a bit simple.
