Drank the vintage. Took a little time for the wine to come alive. The nose, put simply imagine yourself in a botanic garden. Just mesmerizing! On the palate, tannins still evident whilst it has softened over the years still meant the wine can go on and on. Plenty red fruit and balanced acidity. Don’t get me wrong it is a mere village wine, so imagine a 1er or Grand cru, those will be far far from ready.

Fairly reticent. Nose of deep dark violets, perhaps griottes / black cherries. Not particularly Long or complex in mouth; even slightly thick. There’s a fair amount of stuff here and I’d gamble on it developing in an interesting direction in 5-10 years but there is a chance it never opens up.

Burgundy Tasting (Restaurant Brunnenstube, Beinstein): Glass: Schott Zwiesel Burgundy / Riedel Vinum Burgundy PnP. From Magnum. What a nice table wine! Clear, mid ruby color. Lots of red fruit, spices, high acidity and tannin (very fine grained) that gives this wine a very good structure. Precise, good length, bright future. Perfect entry into the top red Burgundies of the evening. 90-91+

Clean nose, violets, sandalwood, vanilla. Lacking in some complexity. Sensation follows through to the palate. Fruit quite shy, but a very nicely balanced wine.

Relatively tight and quite firm. There's a whiff of Asian spice and some concentrated dark fruits. It is in nighty night land at the moment.
