Shy on the opening. After opening it came around but ever so slowly. Wondering if this will ever come around complete. I wish it was more integrated yet you can taste the Sangio aromatics, the Merlot black fruit and herbal high notes of Cab Franc - integration would make them better in terms of the sum of all parts rather than the ability to pick it apart. I dunno.

I was curious to taste this wine as part of me exploring the use of Cabernet Franc in Tuscan wines.
This bottle was nice, but a bit lacklustre. Nicely smooth and integrated with a silky mouthfeel and some ripe fruit and tertiary notes. A medium finish. It feels like it is past peak now if I read earlier (more positive notes) on this wine.
I wasn’t able to find details on the exact blend, except for the fact that the 2009 had 50% Sangiovese and the other 50% divided between Merlot and Cabernet Franc. I had the impression that the Merlot has softened too much in the meantime.

(Castello di Ama Haiku Toscana IGT) Very dark ruby color; fresh, savory, roasted red currant, subtly smoky, tart red currant nose; juicy, saline, savory, roasted red currant, smoky, tart red currant palate with medium acidity; good now and could use 2-plus years; medium-plus finish (50% Sangiovese, 50% Cabernet Franc & Merlot) 93+ points

Phenomenal wine. It was so super silky, I could only imagine how much better it will get with time

fruity, silky and high tone berry. Very different from other Tuscan IGT. Merlot and Cab franc. pair well with causal food. Drink up now

This is mostly about the Sangiovese. Cannot feel the Cab Franc at all. Nice juicy acidity with tertiary spectrum coming in. Drink up.
