Cracked this open to accompany slow-cooked boneless leg of lamb roast for Thanksgiving. No detailed notes or score because we were entertaining and I didn't pay that much attention to it, but it paired really well with the meal. This wine continues to drink very well 12 years from vintage and should last many more years to come. I last had this in Aug 2016. Larry has been making his Syrah in a different style since 2013(?) with more (100%?) whole cluster and I'm even more excited about those wines reaching this age, as they seem to be more complex and aromatic in their (relative) youth (relative, because Tercero releases reds when they are ready, e.g. 2014 is the current vintage for many of the reds).

Clean, developing, pronounced aromas of black cherry. black currant, black pepper, tobacco, cloves, chocolate, cigar box.
Dry, full-bodied, juicy medium (-) tannins, medium acidity, high 14.4% alcohol, medium (+) flavor intensity, long spicy, hot finish. Flavors of luscious black cherry, rhubarb, baked blackberry pie, brioche, and baking spices.
Very good overall quality
Drink now and suitable for additional aging 5+ years

Very similar to last time, except whatever I thought was missing is there now. So many blueberries, lots of acid, a bit of heat, fully resolved tannins, and a long finish. Lots of time left to enjoy this.
