Medium minus Copper at pop n pour. Rich and some caramelized notes to the nose and palate. After 30 minutes, not unlike the descending/maturing sweetness of the 06 Nikolaihof Smaragd. The Ripest-ass apricots, almost turning into a dessert wine. But really starts to turn a corner and this is fine. Licorice, apricot, medium minus tannin. If I could tell you... It’s coming around...looking at Ben’s note and the Amaretto. A drier version that’s been open for 3 month. No slag there tho. Has an orange rainwater vibe, really a lot going on. Medium minus texture, really salty, but still glassy aroma. Really becomes a wine and hour in the glass. Tannin starts to accumulate w/o the food to finish it off with. Earlier with ramp pesto, this was still to whacked out to appreciate with the food. Oriol Artigas Bella was really jamming with it tho. Day 8 and this is what it needs, a more nuanced approach. Apricot and nice texture. Still carries big acid, seems like a salty seafood match, although it’s texture would call for something with a little richness.

Possibly flawed? Thin and timid, this was a disappointing display when compared to Radikon Ribolla 2009. No discernable fruit, just a general, limp sweetness.
