10 years since my last visit of this wine. It was fine but nothing magical. Dominated by alcohol on opening. 2 hours of air helped resolve the alcohol and allow the wine to fill out. I’m not sure I would hold much longer but I could also see this wine surprising at a later stage as well.

Dark crimson in color. 15.2% ABV. 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot and 1% Malbec. Gorgeous nose of creme de cassis, molten licorice and flowers. Full bodied and perfectly balanced. Incredibly silky with notable structure and power. Tremendous texture and mouthfeel. Raspberry, cassis liqueur, black currants and chocolate truffle on the palate. Exceptional length on the finish. Stunning wine from an iconic producer that is aging brilliantly. I have one more bottle that I will check in on at the 25 year mark.

Drinking very well. The cork was a bit of a pain, traveling and only had access to a crappy screw. Thankfully the place had a teaette that let me filter off the crumbs. Still some nice fruit in nose and pallet with a bit of a mature bordauex finish.
A bit higher on the cloudiness due to the transportation and agitation.
Very nice overall, stood up to a spicy shallot cream sauce.

WCC 2004 California Cab Blind Tasting (Fort Orange Club, Albany, NY): Oof, really didn't like this. Lots of heat on the nose and a light varnishy note (VA?), and a confected, slightly raisined quality to the fruit on the palate.
