Drink now or yester-year. Fell apart upon opening. Lots of citric notes that leave a steely tang to the finish. No direction at all. I drank all three in the same week and they were consistently bad. No better time than now...83 points

Tasting note from memory. This Charles has seen better days. I recall tasting this wine back in 2001, and it was quite superior. Decided notes of citrus and hard lemon candy with a mouth feel and a finish that just didn’t integrate all that well. The finish was short abrupt and not all together pleasing. Looks like I waiting too long on this one.

This wine was over the hill, with a skunky materized taste.
Or could just have been a bad bottle.

($30) Wine Country August 2001: Acidic tart apples. Minerally French oak. Just okay. Not for me.

Sumay's No-Show Birthday Party @ Vivaca Grill (Mountain View, CA): Very nice nose of honey and sweet butter. Medium bodied; could use a bit more fruit. Seemed to have turned a bit lean with air. Smelled better than it tasted.
