  • Decanted for two hours prior to recording this tasting note.
Extremely dark garnet color, with a touch of brick at the edges; nose of roast meat and spicy dark fruit. Lots of dark fruit beautifully integrated with savory notes of leather, tobacco, and tar. A touch of acidity adds an invigorating, mouthwatering note. Well-structured with a long satisfying finish, this aged Sangiovese is drinking well and has the legs to go the distance.

  • This wine is a true stunner and I love it at this point of maturity.

Opened 2 hours in advance, opened the neck of the bottle. No decanting.

    Drank in Zalto Burgundy stems.

Unmistakebly Sangiovese, with a complex nose of mature black cherry, blackberries and plums giving space to liqorice, warm wet leather, sage, tyme and rosemary.

Medium body, velvet glove on an iron fist, acidity well present, integrated and fine tannins, long finish.

Alas my last bottle but a great pleasure to drink it today

  • Decanted for two hours before recording this note.
Dark purple color, roast meat and black cherry nose.

This wine continues to develop and put on weight, adding layers and layers of integrated flavor. Right now it is approaching a beautiful balance between juicy black fruit notes and increasing levels of umami: saddle leather, loam, etc. It continues to impress. Fantastic now, with plenty of good years to come!

  • Extremely dark ruby color; intriguing nose of spice.
This wine is a mouthful! Lots of dark fruit, with underlying notes of leather, cedar box, and mushroom. A touch of mint accents the entire enterprise.
This one has many years of life ahead of it. Don’t be in a rush to drink.

  • Notes of dark cherry, leather, and spice. This bottle lacks the freshness of the one I had about a year ago.
