Tasted blind after it was open for several hours. Heavy oak dominated the nose and was hard to find the fruit underneath. The malbec gave it a little sweetness. Oak monsters will love this wine.

Tasting: The Wine Society Museum Reds. Ruby red with a dark core. Huge aromas of cassis - black and blue fruits - maybe a touch spirity - there’s a hint of boiled sweets in there too. The palate is concentrated and intense. It’s luxurious in texture but not over the top - feels well-balanced. Layers of pure fruit with coffee and a touch of creamy oak on the long finish. It’s a really good wine, just not quite a style I prefer.

Deep purple opaque. Nose oak but masked by tainted glass. Full body, medium tannin, dark fruit, oak, menthol . Long finish quite ripe. Maybe tastes better than it drinks?

Hmm. Quite silky and soft. Like being wrapped in alpaca wool. A bit smelly - rubbery, smoky. Burnt sugar - crème caramel. A bit metallic and irony. Uncertain what to make of this.

Cherry and raspberry predominates. Smooth and well rounded. The addition of Malbec to the classic Cab and Merlot blend adds complexity.
