  • This is gorgeous, perfumy nose of roses, cinnamon, and vanilla. The palate has bright red fruit, still plenty of tannins, tar, pepper, and earthiness. Still evolving after 2h in a decanter. Needs 3-4h to show its best. 93/94

  • Decanted for 1 hour. A bit shy on the nose, but developing notes of cherry, slightly darker berries, rose hip and a slight hint of vanilla. Lots of berries, cherries being the most obvious, rose hip, perhaps liquorice and a nice acidity in the taste. Tannins clearly present, but not overwhelming. May still benefit from a couple of years in the cellar.

  • A fresh example of Barbaresco with fruits tending on the red side, wild strawberries and dried cherries, with air also rosehip. Further roses, licorice and dried herbs. Tannins are present but sanded down a bit compared to youth. Delicious.

  • Aromas of rose petals, red fruit, pomegranate, a discreet licorice note and initially som slightly meaty notes.
The palate is dominated by red fruit, abundant tannins, 'liquid stones' and very mineral driven flavours, and a 'cool' fruit profile. There is nice acidity. This is still quite young though i would say that it is far more approachable than two years ago. 92+

  • After waiting 3+ years in my celler, I decided to try another bottle, opened to breathe for 1-4h, sampled throughout. Definitely needs air time, very tannic and brooding after opening, settled down after 2-3h. Classic layered nose of tar, violets, vanilla, cinnamon. On the palate, red fruit and a ton of structure, more mineral and vanilla, and tar, acid of course, lots of tannins still, and a long hot finish. Superb. Great with stir fry for dinner, bread and cheese. Glad I have more, but these will sleep for another 3-5 years.
