Decanted for 3 hours or so, but seems to be in a phase of sorts. The quality of the fruit is fantastic - broad, intense, but not over the top. Yet there is a linear simplicity in how this bottle unfurled on the palate. While there was a more expansive quality to the fruit, I'd almost say there were fewer secondary characteristics on this bottle compared to when I had it much younger. I'm going to let these rest at least another 3 years before opening another.

Opens quite lean in style, elegant, mineral, notes of garrigue and cherries - - with some air you really feel the kirsch. Very juicy and quite open, tannins are not as pronounced in this vintage.91+ point.

Really punches above its weight and superior to many a Chateauneuf. There is smokiness and dust on the nose, which is complimented by crushed stones. Cherry dominated fruit, this is denser and more precise than the CDR name suggests. Brilliant tannic structure will bring longevity. I am once again struck by the value here.

Solid CdR. Flavor profile as you would expect from a Grenache dominant wine.
