  I've always been a big fan of Domaine Du Collier and this is my first experience with Charpentrie Rouge. This is still very primary to me, and almost too simple. The nose is all bright red fruits, mostly cherry, with hints of leather and spices. On day 1 the nose is a tad aggressive but gets better on day 2 with notes of candied cherries. Tannins are quite resolved already but while it felt short on day 1, it felt silkier and longer on day 2. Overall, it improved on day 2 which is promising.
  However, on both days, it feels a tad hot, which may be a vintage effect. I can't wait to try another vintage to compare.
  Bottom line, I want to like this wine but I'm a tad disappointed when I think of how good his other wines aware. I'll try to taste other vintages.

  First pour, it was all cherry red ruit nose with a hint of earthiness. Can feel the weigth of oak on the palate but bright acidity really lifts the wine up, and gives it a pleasant texture and body. Second pour the palate was similar but the nose have become much more obviously Loire Cab Franc with green pyrazine notes dominating. Overall very enjoyable wine.

  Au restaurant. Pas de passage en carafe. Le 1er nez était très ouvert et prometteur mais le vin s’est assez vite refermé.
  En bouche, on a affaire à une belle structure, de la minéralité, un côté salin très réussi, des tanins arrondis sur une bonne finale.
  Il lui faudra du temps mais le potentiel est là.
  92-93 pour le potentiel.
