BWC Small Fish Supper at Fish Kitchen, Norbiton (Fish Kitchen, Norbiton): Another cracking Meursault. Served with a Fabien Coche 1er Cru Gouttes d'Or of the same vintage. On pouring hints of cordite reduction but absolutely in a good way. Texturally delightful. The oak here a little more noticeable on the mid-palate. Some Rose's Lime Cordial and later with a lot of air the faintest hint of mango oil. Great breadth. Will be good to revisit this pair on their 10th birthdays if we can keep our hands off! Also lifted a couple of notches by the whitebait starter that arrived as we we supping.

Round and generous with vanilla, cream, glycerol and wax. Yellow fruit, ripe lemon, some tropical notes of pineapple and mango. Nice underlaying minerality with hints of liquorice, chalk and iron. Quite rich but not without elegance. Good lenght. Great wine but needs more time.

Less exuberant than at the winery two years ago. Very classically Meursault with fat fruit and toasted nuts. Fruit was lush and a bit sweet/tropical and just a bit too much for the freshness. Perhaps just shutting down a touch?

Jadot Bonnes Mares and Gevrey CSJ 96/97/02/03 + (Hughes House - Chicago IL): Very tasty, very fun wit lots of ripe orchard fruit, an enchanting nut butter character, and good weight. Slightly lacking energy on its finish, this is a wonderful wine to enjoy now through the next 5+ years, but probably not best to cellar past that.
