Dark ruby fading to pink with a thin watery rim. Cedar, dark berries, vanilla, and dried herbs on the nose - beautiful. On the palate I am finding smooth but persistent tannins, medium acidity, a full body, and flavors of more dark and red fruits and oaky vanilla.
Not terribly complex, but I really like this wine, especially at the price point. Heck, I really like Rioja, so I am absolutely biased. But trust me, this is a good one. Drink now or hold for another ten years - Riojas last a long time.

88/89. Not as good as it used to be. 2016 is supposed to be a fabled vintage. 14%. Very foursquare refreshing wine with a shortish tannic finish and a bit of an alcoholic burn. Drink in next 2-4 years.

Nose of alcohol and cedar. Somewhat disappointingly thin and unbalanced. There is some black cherry coated with oak . Overall subpar for this producer.

Well rounded, ripe forest fruits with complimentary spices to include clove, oak with slight forest floor. Medium bodied and satisfying from first taste to finish. Open and let stand for at least 60 minutes. An absolute bargain at $16.99 USD.

Fairly hard, austere, rich but acidic Rioja.
Not sure about this.
14%, cork.
