Drank over two days, and left the wine in the decanter over night, on the counter. Decanted an hour. Green earthy notes on day one become much more integrated on day two. Medium to dark garnet in color with blue and black fruit, pepper, and dry earth and tobacco on the nose. Flavors are complex and layered, with blue fruit, earth, cassis, and pencil shavings. Very nice, old world style cabernet. 13.8% ABV makes it more of an "old school" Napa cab, without the extraction so popular today. If that's your thing, this is a tremendous wine.

I'm going to hide the rest of these somewhere, so I don't even think about them for another three years or so. This bottle was very closed, more acidic than tannic, greenish, with some reduction. It was better on day 2, and better again on day 3, which reinforced my view that it would be better to wait quite a while before opening another.

My god, this is divine. Just perfect rendition of this variety. A delicate balance between nervy new generation and a nod to early California winemaking. Fruit, yes, silky, feminine and chalky. Feels light on the palate, but light in that lower-ABV-than-normal-for-variety way rather than dainty. This is a bodied wine that can accompany all the things you'd throw at Cab, just the height of elegance. Take this wine anywhere in the world and put it up against any other Cab, and you'd stun people. World class.
