Delicious, bright red fruited Gevrey. Quite approachable and a pleasure now. Doesn't show the heat of the year except in a somewhat clipped finish. But a crowd pleaser for sure.

Dinner at Wimborne. Drank in Grassl Cru. Tasted blind. Tight and reductive. Took some swirling in big glass to get going. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of red cherry, fresh young leather, iron. Youthful. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13.5%), medium tannins, medium body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of red cherries, red spice, young metallic tinged earth, salinity, some iron meatiness. Medium+ finish. Good quality. Elegant young Gevrey. Could develop into a nicely complex Gevrey village with more age.

I very nice surprise, a balanced Gevrey-Chambertin in a hot vintage 2018, decanted and enjoyed in Zalto Burgundy, ready to roll❤️🍷🇫🇷
