  Beautiful wine - it's very youthful and primary, but not painfully so as there's a lovely sappy quality and juiciness to the fruit that makes it very easy to drink, with layers of brighter floral and herbal notes around the fruit and an almost blood orange-like zesty sweet element that emerges with more air. Quite a firm spine of tannin beneath which softens a bit with air, but the acidity also gives it terrific lift and freshness.

  Tasted at the Estate tucked into the top of the Rio Sordo Vineyard. This is a brilliant medium garnet with a ruby edge. Its slightly less fragrant than the Tre Stelle cru tasted just before, yet also a bit more spicy and earthy. Bright with acidity it also seems to be a touch more grippy on the tannin side. Very savory with herbs, mushrooms and wild strawberry on the palate. The finish is long, but again less so than the Tre Stelle and overall the wine shows good balance and energy. Lovely wine that needs some time in the cellar to soften a bit.

  Wish I had taken detailed notes on this. Super different and interesting Barbaresco. Not what I expected at all from this bottle. Dark fruits with a medium finish. I'm not sure if I agree with KO's 100 point score just yet, but I'm very curious how this evolves over the years. This has the complexity to be a top top Barbaresco in 10+ years.
